Not many years ago, Human-Computer Interaction emerged from the need to design interfaces for users of applications that did not have computer skills. For this, she was applying knowledge and experiences from other scientific and technological areas. From its own experiences the IPO has been generating a body of knowledge with its own theories and methodologies. The rapid advances in personal computing today pose the need for a drastic change in the methods and objectives of the IPC in the not too distant future.
